Pennant Punch Cards and Great News!

Loved this card when I saw it--so I cased it and decided to make to--it's pretty straight forward....and easy!

Thanks to Kimberly Van Diepen for the great card idea!

I've been a bit busy over the past few days welcoming my new granddaughter to  this world!

Whoo Loves You Baby!

I had every intention of making this owl into a "mint patty cover" (that doesn't sound right to me, but I can't think of a better way to say it) when I pinned this idea over a year ago.  Anyway--Frenchie made this card and got me to thinking about how it would be cute in a bit bigger size.  So here's what I came up with:

I used the woodgrain embossing folder and the new cloud folder.   The sentiment is from a retired set.

Happy Bird-Day to You!

I saw a card that was very similar to this one and tried to recreate it.  I used some retired....long retired dsp and eyelet punch00can't remember if it's retired or not.  I used the stamp set "For the Birds" and some framelits to cut out the picture and background.  Add some pearls, very vanilla taffeta ribbon and a retired sentiment and wa-la....here you have it:

Beautiful Wings!

This card is made using the Patio party dsp and the Beautiful Wings embosslit.  I'm not a huge fan of the Summer Starfruit in color, but thought this was a cute layout by Tammy Fite.  I don't like ribbon showing on the inside of my card so I made another layer to prevent this and added a SAB set sentiment using the ticket punch.

Clean and Simple CASE

This card was CASE'd from Laurie Zoellmer at stampingnut.blogspot.com.  I pinned it a long time ago and have loved the clean look of it...so basically I didn't change anything!  The colors used were wild wasabi, pacific point, daffodil delight, basic grey and melon mambo.  It uses the stamp sets, "Lacey and Lovely," and the leaves from "Betsy's Blossom."

Love this Technique!

Everytime I see a card created with the reinker technique I fall in love with it all over again.  The 5th Avenue Floral set was perfect for this technique, but I tried, actually CASE'd this card using the set "Fabulous Florets."  I used the retired Peach Parfait, and Calypso Coral reinkers and my favorite all time embossing powder "Silver Pearl" (not a Su product) and no longer available anywhere.  =-)  I also used the shimmery white paper from Stampin' Up--another product I love.

I just think it's gorgeous--thanks to Diane Vander Galien for the beautiful card to case!  Her name is linked to her blog.

Mixed Medley Valentine

I know this set (Mixed Medley) is now retired, but I had to use it--it is too cute to pass by for a valentine!  I got this idea from the "I Teach Stamping" blog created by Megan Daves.  It's a great site to visit!  Here's the card:

I also used the red glitter paper for the hearts inside the top and bottom scallops. The dsp is from the Summer Smooches collection.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card....

Happy 2013!

I spent my Christmas vacation in Florida with my side of the family.  It was great to see all the members of my family!  The weather wasn't the greatest, but it was warmer than it was here in Kansas!  =-)  Here we are gathered for a family picture.  My grandson thought it was all about him--and actually--it was!

I'll be back later this week with something new....my preorder  from the Spring Catalog and Sale-a-Bration is due in on Wednesday....I can't wait!
