<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ITTtBqMScy0/W6k9yHCF_sI/AAAAAAAACOg/7s_Mc6n3fEsAH60Y3K7ejkYP5w6pnS7ogCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2018-09-24%2Bat%2B2.40.47%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="338" data-original-width="264" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ITTtBqMScy0/W6k9yHCF_sI/AAAAAAAACOg/7s_Mc6n3fEsAH60Y3K7ejkYP5w6pnS7ogCLcBGAs/s320/Screen%2BShot%2B2018-09-24%2Bat%2B2.40.47%2BPM.png" width="249" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
There are so many cool things in it that I can't even pick a favorite. However, I know you are going to want one of these:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6bu44ArlPsg/W6krjuiph1I/AAAAAAAACOU/6xvLv4FL6AIJqjYC7WL0NFqs9SeXNiQ6ACLcBGAs/s1600/unnamed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="428" data-original-width="481" height="284" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6bu44ArlPsg/W6krjuiph1I/AAAAAAAACOU/6xvLv4FL6AIJqjYC7WL0NFqs9SeXNiQ6ACLcBGAs/s320/unnamed.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's the new Take Your Pick tool found on page 30 in the Holiday Catalog and oh my goodness--this picture does not do it justice! If you have trouble picking up small items then this tool is for you--but wait! There's more! Check out this video......</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<iframe allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Nihh0cc81pU" width="560"></iframe>
<br />
Pretty impressive isn't it? I know I won't have to pack as many tools when I travel and craft now! It's one of the first items I bought from the catalog.....along with just a few other things....Ha!<br />
If you want this tool let me know--it's item #144107 and the cost is $10. Let me know and I can add it to an order! Until next time! Happy stamping!<br />

As a teacher I always make this humongous "to do" list in May--then life happens. This summer was no different, but life happened in a bigger way than expected. First my dad became gravely ill and I spent half of June in Indiana (he's recovering nicely). Here he is with my youngest son and grandson.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YV_XLGfeH3w/W6LG4sRGOuI/AAAAAAAACNg/oibswYh3458FCk8P0BgHsylU12dAQVBOQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0970.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="239" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YV_XLGfeH3w/W6LG4sRGOuI/AAAAAAAACNg/oibswYh3458FCk8P0BgHsylU12dAQVBOQCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0970.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then we moved my father in law into an assisted living apartment for memory care which was super tough and continues to be so. Finally in August, right before the school year started up again, my dearly loved sister in law died post surgery (a liver & kidney transplant). <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cdIaOQfubZ8/W6LHp89J5jI/AAAAAAAACN0/oTLSr5C3XQYcCWDgbq-hlM5lvKRDoREDgCLcBGAs/s1600/Deborah-Wagoner-1535035068.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="207" data-original-width="207" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cdIaOQfubZ8/W6LHp89J5jI/AAAAAAAACN0/oTLSr5C3XQYcCWDgbq-hlM5lvKRDoREDgCLcBGAs/s1600/Deborah-Wagoner-1535035068.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
A week later my 4th grandchild was born--Avery Ellen. What a joy in the midst of sorrow!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H9lOrcUfZcU/W6LHLCLSb3I/AAAAAAAACNo/_guX2IdDA8QEWjH4by4F_cEh5mXPl1W7wCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0537.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1196" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H9lOrcUfZcU/W6LHLCLSb3I/AAAAAAAACNo/_guX2IdDA8QEWjH4by4F_cEh5mXPl1W7wCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_0537.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Needless to say--I haven't had a lot of time to stamp, but for me, when I do have the time to create it brings me such satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment!<br />
<br />
Here are a couple of cards that I demonstrated during the summer:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DfjqBve8UFI/W6LH29cmMGI/AAAAAAAACN4/sddNUT3WvvYh_QieLlRhuMhJeYID3QYmwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1367" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DfjqBve8UFI/W6LH29cmMGI/AAAAAAAACN4/sddNUT3WvvYh_QieLlRhuMhJeYID3QYmwCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_3221.jpg" width="273" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Welcome back Poppy Parade--and even though I initially thought I could live without this stamp set I am really loving Abstract Impressions found on page 129 in the Annual Catalog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dU_EX6ABWSc/W6LI_lFP2cI/AAAAAAAACOI/QFIT6iAtc5g8plXbZAUfpob8VN_BVGJ2gCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3224.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1371" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dU_EX6ABWSc/W6LI_lFP2cI/AAAAAAAACOI/QFIT6iAtc5g8plXbZAUfpob8VN_BVGJ2gCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_3224.jpg" width="274" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Of course I had to demonstrate some of the cool things you can do with the Stamparatus! Loving my rainbow heart wreath that I made using the heart from Wood Words fun on page 162 in the Annual Catalog. Hopefully as things settle I'll be back to share more.....<br />
<br />
Keep stamping my friends! DawnDawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16413944286746960771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224917032491287209.post-19458545537746900472018-05-16T06:52:00.004-05:002018-05-16T06:53:22.181-05:00Quick Note....Wow--I was on a roll in mid-April and then my uncle died and we were out of town for a long weekend, followed by being gone for birthdays and suddenly it was May and May is the crazy month for me with the end of the school year and all of the extra work that entails. Anyway--I thought I'd share some of the stuff that I have created between my last post and now to tide me over until I have time to create again!<br />
<br />
Our public library was generous enough to invite all the teachers in McPherson to come and get any books we wanted from their All School's Day Book Sale--for free. I got a big stack of great books!<br />
This card is sort of what I looked like carrying all my books out to the car! It uses a new hostess set from the upcoming catalog called "Hand Delivered." I colored it with my Blends which made it easy peasy to create!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bdlu1N-Z0R8/WvwanYqxftI/AAAAAAAACNI/Nwil4KkSEwMTowdLr64NJ4HREsEt-drHACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3148.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1349" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bdlu1N-Z0R8/WvwanYqxftI/AAAAAAAACNI/Nwil4KkSEwMTowdLr64NJ4HREsEt-drHACLcBGAs/s400/IMG_3148.jpg" width="336" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have a great day! Dawn</div>
<br />Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16413944286746960771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224917032491287209.post-19940149770039088912018-04-17T23:33:00.001-05:002018-04-17T23:33:09.927-05:00A Fond Farewell...Pieces and Patterns from the annual catalog was one of the first sets I purchased along with its matching designer paper.....and I never got one thing stamped with it until now when it's close to retiring. I hate when I do that! <br />
<br />
I started my first card and realized when I was done that I didn't even use a stamp from the set....I got the sentiment from No Bones About It. Another retiring set. This card took a lot of fussy cutting!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UEA3GEoPEbg/WtbIxN9zcPI/AAAAAAAACMg/V-YjuNUmVVcwEVFZZhMdyhwpOInGyBZZQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3072.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1257" data-original-width="1600" height="502" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UEA3GEoPEbg/WtbIxN9zcPI/AAAAAAAACMg/V-YjuNUmVVcwEVFZZhMdyhwpOInGyBZZQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_3072.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I started the next card and realized I still didn't use the stamps from the set! I guess I was into fussy cutting tonight!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mXBLZybi-1s/WtbJTwOfzgI/AAAAAAAACMo/vrUxH5ZYa8gw-1ELCax3PZI2bM4ra7HeACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3073.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1258" data-original-width="1600" height="502" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mXBLZybi-1s/WtbJTwOfzgI/AAAAAAAACMo/vrUxH5ZYa8gw-1ELCax3PZI2bM4ra7HeACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_3073.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I tried to use the stamps....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BbOupg0U11Y/WtbJuSIuYMI/AAAAAAAACMs/y-nA-maLIxwP-_05bbAWAOEshiGRrXm3ACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_3074.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="1600" height="494" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BbOupg0U11Y/WtbJuSIuYMI/AAAAAAAACMs/y-nA-maLIxwP-_05bbAWAOEshiGRrXm3ACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_3074.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is somewhat cased from the catalog and Lilybet's Papers (found it on Pinterest).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The last card involved some embossing and for the life of me I couldn't get it to look right....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All in all....meh. Not really impressed with my stamping tonight, but tomorrow's another day! =-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have some stamping fun! Dawn </div>

So...it’s been a loooooong time since I’ve done a blog
post...no excuses.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There are only so
many hours in a day and something had to give.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>However, I’m going to give it a go again (I’m always more motivated
after OnStage) along with posting to my FB business page too.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you haven’t liked my page yet –and I don’t
blame you if you haven’t but please head over to Facebook and give it a like so
you can see what’s happening in my stamping world!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The new catalog is coming in June.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>June 1, 2018 to be exact and I hate to admit
it, but I have a ton of stamps that are retiring without getting to experience
that sweet smell of ink (I really don’t know if the ink has a smell, but it
sounded good).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In an effort to rectify
that situation I am having an “Hasta la Vista” tour starting today with the stamp set "Grown with Love" found on page 22 of Stampin' Up's annual catalog. This is also available as a bundle and has some really cute framelits to go with the stamp set.<o:p></o:p></div>

This is on a note card. I colored the veggie and wagon stamps with my markers. Cut them out and layered them on a black stitched square framelit on a square of lemon lime twist.</div>

I totally cased all the cards for my August parties--but then again, I usually case a lot anyway. Ha! I do so appreciate the creativity of others!<br />
<br />
Here are the cards we made:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-89G-crE8HpA/WbQWCEJnX0I/AAAAAAAACJ8/Qvm4-qV_eFgPei83ucWgTv0d5rpStvIqgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1459" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-89G-crE8HpA/WbQWCEJnX0I/AAAAAAAACJ8/Qvm4-qV_eFgPei83ucWgTv0d5rpStvIqgCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_1752.jpg" width="363" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was cased from Erica Cerwin and uses the framelits and stamps from the Colorful Season bundle fount on page 147 in the Annual Catalog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ae4Dm3XUdjI/WcBBJesLIYI/AAAAAAAACKU/WqogriLkaucjaMdfCwC7cdqGgWCCglm_ACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1754.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1154" data-original-width="1600" height="230" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ae4Dm3XUdjI/WcBBJesLIYI/AAAAAAAACKU/WqogriLkaucjaMdfCwC7cdqGgWCCglm_ACLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1754.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hB5hys53KOs/WcBBYPPEZOI/AAAAAAAACKY/X2p8_vr2GV0LY0VrkeOCGUsMquSssLfrgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1755.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hB5hys53KOs/WcBBYPPEZOI/AAAAAAAACKY/X2p8_vr2GV0LY0VrkeOCGUsMquSssLfrgCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_1755.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These 4 cards were a sample of what you can make with the Label Me Pretty bundle on pg. 27 of the annual catalog and the Petal Garden designer series paper found on pg. 187 of the annual catalog. I totally cased all of these to a certain degree from <a href="http://klompenstampers.com/">klompenstampers.com</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tkQntu_YZI8/WcBDb8r7JKI/AAAAAAAACKk/r7W_UXJwpSMBO6DrJw19RNCSlHrVvyejQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1756.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1291" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tkQntu_YZI8/WcBDb8r7JKI/AAAAAAAACKk/r7W_UXJwpSMBO6DrJw19RNCSlHrVvyejQCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_1756.jpg" width="322" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The daisy punch is finally back in stock so I can demo it!! The bundle can be found on page 127 of the annual catalog. You know when I first saw this set in the catalog I was pretty ho hum about it, but oh my have I seen some gorgeous stuff made with it! The coordinating designer series paper is one of the prettiest in the catalog in my honest opinion. This was cased from Janet Wakeland I believe. The thanks greeting is from All Things Thanks found on page 129 in the annual catalog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now I'm heading to my stamp room to prepare for my upcoming September parties and get things cut out for a women's retreat that I'm helping with. Fun, fun, fun! (I mean that with NO sarcasm)--I really do love having time to create!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Let me know if I can help you in any way or if you'd like to host a party! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep stamping! Dawn</div>

Yep---my classroom filled with 26 years worth of "stuff." When I was asked to move I got very quiet on the phone....and was asked if I was there. I just had to take a pause as I was watching my summer plans fly out the window. I spent the rest of the summer doing a little vacationing and a lot of packing and unpacking and organizing. <br />
<br />
I did to a bit of stamping for my 2 groups that meet monthly....here is one of the cards that I shared (most were totally cased and I'll try and give credit!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2b7PT7j3MLQ/WYuj4xWpN1I/AAAAAAAACJo/jelgFwmfr303kADyzlPYEArrNnSBy0OygCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1658.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2b7PT7j3MLQ/WYuj4xWpN1I/AAAAAAAACJo/jelgFwmfr303kADyzlPYEArrNnSBy0OygCLcBGAs/s400/IMG_1658.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card was inspired by one that I saw on Chic 'n Scratch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Really to love the "This Little Piggy" set and can't wait to do more with it!</div>

I sent in an order the minute I could today because I couldn't wait to get my hands on this adorable pig set called This Little Piggy-(and maybe a few other items!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I held 2 Open Houses on May 30 and 31 to try and get the catalog in the hands of those who were really dying to get it!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/dhoffman/">Click Here</a> to See the catalog online!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you don't have one yet--let me know and I'll try and get one in your hands!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At the Open House, I had a little goody bag for each person attending, plus a drawing for some extra Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and items that I had from last year along with 3 of the new in-color stamp pads. We also had a make and take featuring the 5 new in-colors which I think are pretty awesome this year! The card also used the new Happy Birthday thinlit. This was totally cased from Rachel Brumley. Loved it and how it showcased the new in-colors!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

In early April I drove to OnStage in Shreveport, Louisiana with Molly (a demo friend from Wichita).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaMXXYBDeDM/WQP4c3lydHI/AAAAAAAACIE/Syi8RDwxGscJuJsOMe5kRD60YuObWdREgCLcB/s1600/IMG_1344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yaMXXYBDeDM/WQP4c3lydHI/AAAAAAAACIE/Syi8RDwxGscJuJsOMe5kRD60YuObWdREgCLcB/s400/IMG_1344.jpg" width="288" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a fabulous time and came home with a lot of stampin' goodies! I took a ton of pictures....what fun seeing all the gorgeous samples made by such talented stampers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RocM3F7C9_Q/WQP6Iq-4rbI/AAAAAAAACIQ/H3CcvJH4a9YIDIk3DQCyjtZiAVQXIPMIwCLcB/s1600/IMG_1173.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RocM3F7C9_Q/WQP6Iq-4rbI/AAAAAAAACIQ/H3CcvJH4a9YIDIk3DQCyjtZiAVQXIPMIwCLcB/s400/IMG_1173.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is just 1 section of the "Swap Board" which happens to include my 2 swaps. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2PVL12uOyKA/WQP6fF1R2GI/AAAAAAAACIU/ygmEGmrtj4UJnmziX_Y3Dx8tcMIYw4ZeACLcB/s1600/IMG_0992.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2PVL12uOyKA/WQP6fF1R2GI/AAAAAAAACIU/ygmEGmrtj4UJnmziX_Y3Dx8tcMIYw4ZeACLcB/s320/IMG_0992.jpg" width="268" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This card uses the Dragonfly Dreams set and was inspired by a card made by Michelle Last. My next card was supposed to be my swap, but I only got a couple of them made....here's what it looked like...with all those pieces already cut out I'm guessing it might become a make and take in the near future! Ha!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kKisFgFeQ-4/WQP7c8AbFrI/AAAAAAAACIg/5mn-Ple3LbMdJe673L0H7Hwmo-a4rvE7wCLcB/s1600/IMG_1168.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kKisFgFeQ-4/WQP7c8AbFrI/AAAAAAAACIg/5mn-Ple3LbMdJe673L0H7Hwmo-a4rvE7wCLcB/s320/IMG_1168.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh my goodness, my friends....wait until you see the new catalog!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm just going to tell you-- I can't wait to get my hands on so much stuff! It is awesome!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After a full day of Stamping' Up fun a few of us (90) joined Erica Cerwin (Pink Buckaroo Stamping) and Kay Cogbill for and "After Party" of stamping using the Cool Treats stamp set. Such fun! Kay came around giving out door prizes and thought I was sitting by my sister.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
...but we'd just met that night! I guess you could say we were stampin' sisters!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love being a Stampin' Up demonstrator! You meet the greatest people (while having fun) and you get a discount on all the great stuff in the catalog! WIN-WIN in my book!</div>

She responded with, "Well, I've been checking your blog and you haven't posted in so long I wondered..."<br />
<br />
Uh-oh--better get on it I thought (and yet here it is 2 months later). It's not like I haven't been stamping--I just haven't been stamping regularly due to my busy-ness with school this year. So here's a quick catch up of some of my holiday cards that I have made with my stamping groups over the last few months--at least the ones that I took pictures of before I sent off in the mail! Ha!<br />
<br />
I loved this sweet angel....if you like her maybe she'll be on the clearance rack soon! =-)<br />

It has a lot of steps, but the end result is worth it!<br />
If you look closely at the Fruit Stand Suite as introduced on page 148 you'll see the adorable little paper fruit crates that were created! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KWWeAsA7Dpo/V49ydxK7KqI/AAAAAAAACFs/TI9spbN7U8APp8h4szQ1IKE2t_zKu7i4QCLcB/s1600/IMG_0157.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="338" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KWWeAsA7Dpo/V49ydxK7KqI/AAAAAAAACFs/TI9spbN7U8APp8h4szQ1IKE2t_zKu7i4QCLcB/s400/IMG_0157.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's my version:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kVMdGExQjzQ/V493TuUvHNI/AAAAAAAACF4/zXVj7kgRsKcyH77TpiF_e5pYMcb4rV9_ACLcB/s1600/IMG_0147.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="544" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kVMdGExQjzQ/V493TuUvHNI/AAAAAAAACF4/zXVj7kgRsKcyH77TpiF_e5pYMcb4rV9_ACLcB/s640/IMG_0147.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I went on YouTube and watched a couple of tutorials and then adapted them to what I wanted to do--create a little card carrier! I narrowed mine from the tutorials and widened it just a touch so my cards would fit inside it. <br />
•I cut my Kraft cardstock (#133674) to 2 1/2 by 7 1/2 and scored with the long side up at 1 7/8--flipped it and scored the other side also. This created the sides of the crate. <br />
•I cut 4 slats at 3/4 by 4 1/4 and scored each of those at 1/4 inch on both sides to create little flaps to attach them. <br />
•I then stamped the crate sides and slats using my Hardwood stamp (#133035) and Soft Suede ink. I sponged the edges to age it and make it look a little more "woody."<br />
•Punch your handles in the sides- I used the retired small oval punch --the word window (also retired) or the new Classic Label punches were too wide to look good when I narrowed the box. **If you attach the slats you may not be able to punch out the handles.<br />
•Fold on your scoreline and add Tear and Tape (#138995) to the 1/4 inch scored parts on the slat pieces. Fit them into the crate and attach to the sides starting at the bottom (matching up the sides and not leaving much of a space on the bottom of the crate) then add the top slat matching it up to the top of the box. Do the other side. <br />
•Add your doily and a piece of Fruit Stand DSP cut at 2 1/4 by 2 1/4. The doily and DSP are folded in half and glued on the front of the crate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SFfHZqCAz8Y/V493zjLfryI/AAAAAAAACF8/MWRNNLT3QnMBw_emAg0Ozqwd14Ra5ZwlgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="347" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SFfHZqCAz8Y/V493zjLfryI/AAAAAAAACF8/MWRNNLT3QnMBw_emAg0Ozqwd14Ra5ZwlgCLcB/s400/IMG_0146.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I reinterpreted an idea presented at the last SU convention that used the note cards (#131527) cut in half. Here's what I did:<br />
•I folded the card on the scoreline and cut it in half at 2 1/2" and then keeping each folded trimmed off about 1/8" from the bottom of each card.<br />
•I then cut the envelope in half, sealed the flap and punched a 1/2 oval with my retired small oval punch on the opening side so the card can easily get in and out of the envelope.<br />
•I stamped and decorated the cards with the Fresh Fruit stamp set (#141770). I stamped 3 strawberries/tops using Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush ink on a scrap of whisper white cardstock and cut them out and also stamped one strawberry & top on each card. <br />
•I used my Wink of Stella (#141897) to jazz the strawberries up a bit, added some strips of Fruit Stand DSP (#141660), a cute bow out of Whisper White Baker's twine (#124262), curled the ends with my scissors and BAM! You have 2 cute little cards to tuck into a present or slip into someone's mailbox at work. <br />
•I just attached an extra strawberry or 2 onto toothpicks with glue dots and added a sign- the words "For You" are from the Jar of Love set.<br />
<br />
If you'd like to order any of the supplies needed to create this project you can go <a href="http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/dhoffman/">here</a> and get started!<br />

No excuses....just the fact that when life is busy something has to give--and my blog was it!<br />
<br />
I'm anxious to start creating and posting projects with the awesome products from our new 2016 - 17 catalog. My upline and I hosted a "New Catalog" party this past week--here's the make and take that I had for my stamping friends--a little 3 x 3 card using the "Pop of Paradise" stamp set....so cute! The little pineapple is adorable--and really trendy right now!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UGqRpJf7bQs/V1y5QRuD7qI/AAAAAAAACFQ/JHarSkcUlGos7jwPn83Om_144HIFqCBpgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0086.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="340" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UGqRpJf7bQs/V1y5QRuD7qI/AAAAAAAACFQ/JHarSkcUlGos7jwPn83Om_144HIFqCBpgCLcB/s400/IMG_0086.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pineapple is stamped in one of our new in-colors--Flirty Flamingo. Gotta love the names of the colors don't you? Ha! What a fun job it would be coming up with them!</div>
<br />
<br />
I'm trying to determine a regular blogging schedule to get into this summer and hopefully maintain....so you'll be hearing from me again sooner than 4 months!<br />

Perhaps this year will be better....<br />
<br />
Ha! I wrote this post in January and I'm now getting ready to finally post it....in late February. How can I be so busy?? My husband says I need to put "no" in my vocabulary more often. Ha!<br />
So here's to catching up!!<br />
<br />
Here are the cards that I started off the year with for my January Cards and Cake Party......<br />
<br />
We started with a concertina card---I believe I had some posts about those about a year and a half ago--they really make special cards, but take awhile to create!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gRBBsRYUAHc/Vsp3yvtZ7lI/AAAAAAAACEM/HeI6wALEt6o/s1600/IMG_1598.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gRBBsRYUAHc/Vsp3yvtZ7lI/AAAAAAAACEM/HeI6wALEt6o/s400/IMG_1598.jpg" width="297" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RdKuX3eHTBo/Vsp4MkIfkhI/AAAAAAAACEQ/6o3IjluHH24/s1600/IMG_1600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RdKuX3eHTBo/Vsp4MkIfkhI/AAAAAAAACEQ/6o3IjluHH24/s640/IMG_1600.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the card open. Go back to <a href="http://stampinatdawn.blogspot.com/2014/05/vc-rocks-first-blog-hop-of-year.html">this post</a> to get my links to a tutorial and site where you can put in your dimensions and make your own "box envelope" for this card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our second project was a fancy fold called a 6 fold card. I got the tutorial for it <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujFdr2pSH5Q">here</a> from Dawn Griffith. The card I made was for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M0CP4hvajYI/Vsp7BRitaBI/AAAAAAAACEg/L5DylUrb8kw/s1600/IMG_1608.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M0CP4hvajYI/Vsp7BRitaBI/AAAAAAAACEg/L5DylUrb8kw/s640/IMG_1608.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a lot of retired paper and the stamp set with the owls--but also used the set "Number of Years" from the Occasions catalog with it's matching framelits. There was actually a 3rd project--a triangle box, but most people didn't get to it since the 2 cards were a bit time consuming! I'll post the box and direction link next time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cake was yummy --and Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cake---so moist and tasty--even though I messed up the frosting, leaving out the evaporated milk and vanilla. <a href="http://www.idigpinterest.com/2014/09/old-fashioned-oatmeal-cake.html">Here's a link</a> to the recipe I used if you want to try it!</div>

I showed a quick Christmas card using Wondrous Wreath that I saw on a youtube <a href="http://brandyscards.com/wonderous-wreath-video-tutorial/">video by Brandy</a>. I love this set and its matching framelits. Then I showed how to make your own stamp pad with a baby wipe and ink refills to make a gorgeous fall card with this set--it is so versatile! <a href="http://stampinatdawn.blogspot.com/2014/11/more-fall-fest-fun.html">See this post for a link</a> to a video showing this technique and similar card.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oops...it looks like my dazzling details got a bit smushed in my travels....=-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped the greeting a bit crooked....just makes it homemade--right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The make and takes that we did included the card above which uses the crumb cake notecards and this quick and easy card in lost lagoon that uses Flurry of Wishes.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What I loved most about this make and take was the individual style that each person added to their card. Some turned it to landscape position, others added rhinestones and no snowflake element....I loved them all! I got this card design/idea from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXDBABUORhs">Sandi McIver</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our last project is a gift card/money holder made out of a standard envelope. We used the "Oh What Fun" stamp set and a tutorial that I received from Chic'nScratch in a e-mail. I believe she has a tutorial for it online also if you search on youtube.</div>

The colors of fall just make me happy! At the last gathering with my Hillsboro group we made some fall cards using some of my favorite techniques and here they are:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-StneX-x0rVQ/VhiEMbYOykI/AAAAAAAACCk/40YBDilglXs/s1600/IMG_1358%2B%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="470" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-StneX-x0rVQ/VhiEMbYOykI/AAAAAAAACCk/40YBDilglXs/s640/IMG_1358%2B%25281%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Isn't this acorn just the cutest? I can't wait to play with it more this weekend. The "Into the Woods" designer paper is the perfect foil for this set--Acorny Thank You---and you can bundle it too! The technique we used here was faux suede --it's hard to see, but the texture of suede is on the daffodil circle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TkEFBljtcL4/VhiFijYZXCI/AAAAAAAACCw/_Db3gdPPkwU/s1600/IMG_1362.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TkEFBljtcL4/VhiFijYZXCI/AAAAAAAACCw/_Db3gdPPkwU/s640/IMG_1362.jpg" width="536" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
France Martin designed a card a few years ago using this sponging technique and I still think it makes a striking fall card. I used the Vintage Leaf set for the leaves and LightHearted Leaves for the sentiment. I have 2 containers of these cute wooden embellishments left over from last year and really need to get them used! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our last project was this little cutie--a mint for after dinner. I think this would be a cute little thing to put at each person's plate when they join you for a fall feast!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zkOsjD0aFKo/VhiGqEmxwjI/AAAAAAAACC8/uxqkuomsetw/s1600/IMG_1361.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zkOsjD0aFKo/VhiGqEmxwjI/AAAAAAAACC8/uxqkuomsetw/s320/IMG_1361.jpg" width="309" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and you can crank out a bunch of these very easily!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have fun stamping! Dawn</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There are so many wonderful cards out there that people have made it was hard to come up with the four that we did make! There are a lot of ice cream cards out there so here's what we did:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LfkwaEsk-ZA/Ve4kniDmJ9I/AAAAAAAACBk/eg4syKDgV-s/s1600/IMG_1242.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LfkwaEsk-ZA/Ve4kniDmJ9I/AAAAAAAACBk/eg4syKDgV-s/s640/IMG_1242.jpg" width="542" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cased this from a card I took a picture of at convention--I thought it was a clever use of the leaves stamp.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iAM_ZH6qrGo/Ve4lHRAx0rI/AAAAAAAACBs/Z6eUu108eQM/s1600/IMG_1243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iAM_ZH6qrGo/Ve4lHRAx0rI/AAAAAAAACBs/Z6eUu108eQM/s640/IMG_1243.jpg" width="470" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is similar to one that was demonstrated on the stampin' up website.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mXfVSRc7CrE/Ve4mJS5JnOI/AAAAAAAACB4/ovoX86AvzmI/s1600/IMG_1248.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mXfVSRc7CrE/Ve4mJS5JnOI/AAAAAAAACB4/ovoX86AvzmI/s640/IMG_1248.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is totally cased from a youtube video by StampinTexasChristi.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0ZuFiBLa8gA/Ve4nGHSPMfI/AAAAAAAACCE/w-aFzftvmVQ/s1600/IMG_1244.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0ZuFiBLa8gA/Ve4nGHSPMfI/AAAAAAAACCE/w-aFzftvmVQ/s640/IMG_1244.jpg" width="598" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Love the apples and the basket! Here's the inside of the card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep on stamping! Dawn</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I met with the Hillsboro Ladies in early August before I had to go back to school....and the McPherson gang a week later!<br />
<br />
First I shared some of the fun tips on making interesting backgrounds that were shared at convention this year....<br />
<br />
•using watered down Tombow glue to make glue splatters and then adding glitter<br />
•using the Dazzling Details and a sponge dauber + mask to create a subtle glittery background<br />
•creating a focal point for a card with your DSP with color added using a sponge dauber or spritzer<br />
•coloring glimmer paper with a spritzer filled with 3/4 rubbing alcohol and 20 drops of reinker<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcNerWcG9Zo/Vezp0TjhDBI/AAAAAAAAB_k/FSPLPPH8SHc/s1600/IMG_1233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcNerWcG9Zo/Vezp0TjhDBI/AAAAAAAAB_k/FSPLPPH8SHc/s640/IMG_1233.jpg" width="456" /></a></div>
<br />
Gotta love those bundles! Merry Everything and Festival of Trees!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jwcdcxhwiWo/VezoqIhjiCI/AAAAAAAAB_Y/0DOJa1SdDS0/s1600/IMG_1226%2B%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jwcdcxhwiWo/VezoqIhjiCI/AAAAAAAAB_Y/0DOJa1SdDS0/s640/IMG_1226%2B%25281%2529.jpg" width="496" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Love the sentiments in the Tin of Cards set!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tB7YwwG-uwI/Vezp__IjEMI/AAAAAAAAB_s/SsIn_x08Gxk/s1600/IMG_1225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="482" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tB7YwwG-uwI/Vezp__IjEMI/AAAAAAAAB_s/SsIn_x08Gxk/s640/IMG_1225.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are the cards that I either demonstrated or we made!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Use that washi tape to create a fun background!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wmahJmPaJ-U/VezsoVd73hI/AAAAAAAAB_4/3i2C1n0JDXY/s1600/IMG_1221.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wmahJmPaJ-U/VezsoVd73hI/AAAAAAAAB_4/3i2C1n0JDXY/s640/IMG_1221.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We used that same tag punch to create the openings you saw on the first 2 cards above and the one below--just make sure you use a 3 1/4 inch square piece of designer series paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The large stamp Definitely Dahlia is the focal point for this card--I cased this from a swap I received at convention....but can't find the name of the stamper! =-(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Isn't this card using the Honeycomb Hello set adorable? I cased it from Amanda Sevall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here were my cards:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RgMv1vNGjkM/VdvQKDNJqGI/AAAAAAAAB-M/41KNHmBwDoA/s1600/IMG_1060.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="522" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RgMv1vNGjkM/VdvQKDNJqGI/AAAAAAAAB-M/41KNHmBwDoA/s640/IMG_1060.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a "magic card"--when you pull up on the cord the picture of the frog (from You're Sublime) "magically" gets colored!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uXWaH0aslrU/VdvQ0eKRGHI/AAAAAAAAB-U/Ihf6Revq45M/s1600/IMG_1061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uXWaH0aslrU/VdvQ0eKRGHI/AAAAAAAAB-U/Ihf6Revq45M/s640/IMG_1061.jpg" width="574" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There were some great presentations on the last day and I got a ton of ideas to share during this coming holiday season. Since I wasn't heading home until Sunday morning, I went out to eat with a group of demonstrators to this place located up in the mountains east of Salt Lake City...the back patio where we ate was just a beautiful setting....</div>

Day 2 of convention was filled with classes about communication, how to be a salesperson when you aren't one, a class that highlighted one of the new Christmas collections that is reminiscent of the illustrations in the old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer book from the late 50's or early 60's, and time spent in the Gathering Center with new products to try out. =-) <br />
<br />
I participated in a punch art swap on this day and oh, my did I get some cute cards! I might have to have a few punch art classes just to share the ideas!! Here are my two swaps:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1-Z0naodrt4/VcAOHUBaJzI/AAAAAAAAB9Q/38G6w6jMmjg/s1600/IMG_0998.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1-Z0naodrt4/VcAOHUBaJzI/AAAAAAAAB9Q/38G6w6jMmjg/s640/IMG_0998.jpg" width="542" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My base is garden green with 2 layers of pool party--the top one embossed with the honeycomb embossing folder. The tree branch and leaves are from the new tree builder punch and I made the hive using the wide oval and large oval punches. The hanger part on top is the word window punch. I think I used hello honey for this. My bees were the trickiest part. I started with the 1/2" circle punch and cut it down. Then I punched the rest and cut them with the same angle using the first as my "pattern." Then I glued them together and added the details with my basic black marker. The wings are from the small heart punch in cardstock vellum. My sentiment is from the set: A Dozen Thoughts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My inspiration for this card came from a card I saw on pinterest by Heather Klump. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My second card is a Volkswagen Beetle....sort of....I just couldn't get the side mirrors on without it looking very strange!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XJSRWUN0KWo/VcAQF7ta4nI/AAAAAAAAB9c/3Iefpr_N8xg/s1600/IMG_0999.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XJSRWUN0KWo/VcAQF7ta4nI/AAAAAAAAB9c/3Iefpr_N8xg/s640/IMG_0999.jpg" width="562" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The card base is basic black and the grass (I just handcut it) is in old olive. This is mounted on soft sky. The clouds are from the tree builder punch and the sun is one of the Flower Fair framelits. The bug is made using the wide oval and small oval punch. I can give specific details if anyone wants them (just let me know). The bumper was done with 2 of the word window punches with the ends trimmed a bit more bluntly. I hand cut the curves on the skinny bumper piece and rearview mirror. The heart on the car is from the confetti hearts border punch. My tires were done with the Handpicked framelits (the one that looks like a pencil). To make my pennant I punch a 1" square, marked the center on one side and then hand cut to the corners to make the triangle. I then just glued them on some melon mambo paper and cut them out. The sentiment is from the set Banner Banter.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have a funeral tomorrow so I doubt if I'll post Day 3 then--probably be Wednesday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There was no way I was going to fork over big bucks for my hotel room so I Hotwired it an got a huge price cut (which made me oh, so happy). However that meant I had to do a lot of walking since I was 5 blocks from the convention center. If I was a step counter I would have been in "step heaven!" <br />
<br />
On Wednesday before convention began I participated in my first of 4 organized swaps---a new stamp set swap. I had to make 41 of these babies. When I signed up I forgot to pick a stamp set from the catalog and by the time I remembered there weren't many sets left to pick from. As I looked at Sweet Stack, which is the set designed to go with the Cutie Pie thinlits and Sweet Stack kit, I thought I could come up with some kind of banner with the triangular piece.....yep....easier said than done. <br />
<br />
I can't tell you how many ways I tried this and just couldn't get it to my liking. Finally ended up with this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lhYEnSnehOA/VbYifqrebGI/AAAAAAAAB7s/SKaDHohmG0M/s1600/IMG_0952.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="468" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lhYEnSnehOA/VbYifqrebGI/AAAAAAAAB7s/SKaDHohmG0M/s640/IMG_0952.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Cherry on Top paper to get my theme and went from there! Daffodil Delight (it's supposed to be crushed curry, but it's just not bright enough for me), bermuda bay with the zig zag embossing folder, Then I stamped and cut out the watermelon wonder banners, mounted them on whisper white and cute again. I stamped the banner again in pool party and cut out the "of" and added it to the watermelon wonder banner piece. Add your whisper white baker's twine and then tie a ton of bows (which I added with 1/2 of a glue dot). Final touch was 3 rhinestones in the corners of the banner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The inside looks like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fiUuNkgW9Bg/VbYki5tMieI/AAAAAAAAB74/-CocA53973c/s1600/IMG_0948.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="468" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fiUuNkgW9Bg/VbYki5tMieI/AAAAAAAAB74/-CocA53973c/s640/IMG_0948.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the set Fabulous Four and punched a couple more banners from glimmer paper and Cherry on Top paper (love this design--so bright and cheery) then stapled them on. Swap #1 Done.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a picture to give you and idea of the chaos that you see when you come into the convention center (especially the first morning). Trying to find friends in the midst of all this is crazy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s01rXnUb6sc/VbYl4FGLvSI/AAAAAAAAB8E/5Nxxq4SdPRk/s1600/IMG_0955.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s01rXnUb6sc/VbYl4FGLvSI/AAAAAAAAB8E/5Nxxq4SdPRk/s640/IMG_0955.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then we are herded (a bit like sheep) into the area where we have general sessions-- and controlled, fun chaos ensues:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzb7ofWkYJUujioW6aj3otfa5ZQITUIym5oT3b2xBN3oSx8tNOVzX1I909bNgN970ZxIJc_jNJ6tasA1ZYbrA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br />
<br />
The highlight of the morning session was the reveal of our awesome new Holiday/Fall Catalog! There is so much in there you are going to want! I can't wait until I can show you starting Sept. 1!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After the general session we had lunch and 4 different informational classes--mine were on building the business with kits, demonstration theater, making videos, and the compensation plan. I got great ideas from all! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had my second swap that evening before supper--a WOW card swap. So I made 51 of these gems (and stayed up until 2 a.m. the night before to get them done):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CogcymkqEHM/VbaK6jDRmKI/AAAAAAAAB8k/TqQ2moRGx7k/s1600/IMG_1092.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CogcymkqEHM/VbaK6jDRmKI/AAAAAAAAB8k/TqQ2moRGx7k/s640/IMG_1092.jpg" width="522" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And the inside of the card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LVRS83zkPiA/VbaLKLxl5EI/AAAAAAAAB8s/wen-PIY973g/s1600/IMG_1094.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="628" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LVRS83zkPiA/VbaLKLxl5EI/AAAAAAAAB8s/wen-PIY973g/s640/IMG_1094.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Very vanilla, blushing bride and gold embossing powder added to the butterfly framelits and Cottage Greetings brought this all together! I really intended to put gold thread under each butterfly, but it was too time consuming to get done for all 51 in the time that I had to work on them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The day finished with Awards night and the after party--but to be honest, I was so pooped from staying up late to finish the swap that I couldn't enjoy this like I wanted to!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

I was lucky enough to meet several ladies from the Wichita area on my flight and had fun talking with them during our 4 hour layover in Las Vegas! Convention doesn't start until Thursday but I got up fairly early on Wednesday, worked on some swaps and then headed up to the convention center to see if I could catch a bus out to Riverton to take a tour through the SU offices. <br />
Riverton is about 20 - 30 minutes south of Salt Lake City and the SU building is beautiful! The famous stone is at the end of a long drive (there are actually 2 of them). Of course I had to take my picture there!!<br />
<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TkupuH7rYZY/VbTOm1KKLLI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/9JMg_AYXeQA/s1600/IMG_0869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TkupuH7rYZY/VbTOm1KKLLI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/9JMg_AYXeQA/s640/IMG_0869.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I headed into the building--here's what I saw when entering!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8D-gsMNgJ-A/VbTO6Z4J7zI/AAAAAAAAB6g/UEivPrj7GB8/s1600/IMG_0944.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8D-gsMNgJ-A/VbTO6Z4J7zI/AAAAAAAAB6g/UEivPrj7GB8/s640/IMG_0944.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Yes-the center atrium on the lower level has a waterfall area surrounded by tables for people to sit and work or eat at--so calming and relaxing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
SU had a little walking tour set up for us so we could see many of the areas of the facility. First we went to the Legacy Room which has vignettes set up using SU product--a bedroom with a wall of flowers, a wall of chalkboard sayings, and so on .... so much beauty....I couldn't take enough pictures! Here's a sample of what I saw:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--nxF48xFGoI/VbTP7-sYMSI/AAAAAAAAB6s/DOyRLrtaSHI/s1600/IMG_0871.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="580" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--nxF48xFGoI/VbTP7-sYMSI/AAAAAAAAB6s/DOyRLrtaSHI/s640/IMG_0871.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VyS-L6S-4Bs/VbTQG2pmWzI/AAAAAAAAB60/U5jhbzOUlE0/s1600/IMG_0873.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VyS-L6S-4Bs/VbTQG2pmWzI/AAAAAAAAB60/U5jhbzOUlE0/s640/IMG_0873.jpg" width="624" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was from 1 of probably 7 or 8 scenes. Next we headed into demonstrator support offices where they had all the cards donated for Ronald McDonald house set up for us to see and workers were there to chat with us as we went through.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After that we went to a balcony overlooking the floor where orders are filled. This was so fascinating to me as much of it is automated/computerized. Here's a quick video of what I saw:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwEgrHGndC6waEOqGYtyEMnR1aZyPMPgiJtb_12LSFe-jeFfjuBVsFOCRD4W8pqxX6ntW11gml1oRQE7GY-sA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The gal putting the boxes together slaps on 2 computer generated bar codes that tell what to put in the boxes. So interesting! I always was a lover of Mr. Roger's "how it's made" videos so this was right up my alley.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was lucky enough to meet up with Shelley and Molly from Wichita on this tour which made it so much more fun! I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow with details from the first (official) day of convention!</div>

We tried inking up the solid stamp and then "kissing" it to a dry stamp with no ink on it....here's what we got:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R3epLI6e2IM/Va7bb1mL2BI/AAAAAAAAB5g/x21Az4XZl_U/s1600/IMG_0847%2B%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R3epLI6e2IM/Va7bb1mL2BI/AAAAAAAAB5g/x21Az4XZl_U/s320/IMG_0847%2B%25281%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It just seemed very undefined and although there is a pattern in there on the background, it looks like I squiggled the stamp around and blurred the image (which I didn't--I don't think). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When we inked up one stamp in a darker ink and one lighter we got this--which I turned into this card using the Cherry on Top wash tape:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7g6vyHiZD-8/Va7b9jpTZ6I/AAAAAAAAB5o/dru86Vkm1_Y/s1600/IMG_0846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7g6vyHiZD-8/Va7b9jpTZ6I/AAAAAAAAB5o/dru86Vkm1_Y/s640/IMG_0846.jpg" width="564" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like it much better!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Right now I'm sitting in the LasVegas airport waiting for my connection flight to Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm heading there for the Stampin' Up Convention. I have been working like crazy on all of my swaps--I don't know how people have time to create 300 or 500 swap cards. I've been working non stop on my 160 cards that I'm making for the swaps that I joined. I didn't make any to just do general swapping with--thought I'd be less stressed this way. Hmmm.... Here's what I've been doing as I sit in the airport--working on my WOW swap of 51 cards....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll post reports of what's happening at convention this week as well as photos of my swaps! I'll be sending out an e-mail with the info. for weekly deals when I get into my hotel room tonight!</div>

Sally the hostess for my first group requested a sympathy card idea. I've always loved Thoughts & Prayers--its sweet tree and lovely sentiments...here's the idea that I got from several different cards on Pinterest...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LeXNHuj-UbU/VawHdfW-YHI/AAAAAAAAB4s/QuYmtD8l_tQ/s1600/IMG_0839.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="528" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LeXNHuj-UbU/VawHdfW-YHI/AAAAAAAAB4s/QuYmtD8l_tQ/s640/IMG_0839.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Punch your circle out of a post-it and then place it where you want your moon to be. Then sponge with soft sky before adding your tree and sentiment out of soft suede. You may not see it very clearly, but we added some details with the scoreboard on the piece behind the main image on the card. The soft suede piece is embossed with woodgrain (love). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since the McPherson group had already done the in color card with butterfly basics and the new lace ribbon I showed them the new set, "I Think You're Great" which was intended to use tie the technique of kissing. I messed around a bit with the kissing and will post that in my next post...but I loved this card that was featured on Pink Buckaroo's blog and I think she got it from one of her friends Krista Jensen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CRtM0wVeMIg/VawOkxlvkgI/AAAAAAAAB48/FewrALkOLDc/s1600/IMG_0832.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CRtM0wVeMIg/VawOkxlvkgI/AAAAAAAAB48/FewrALkOLDc/s640/IMG_0832.jpg" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First card is tip top taupe and daffodil delight and the 2nd is watermelon wonder and tip top taupe.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll be back soon with some kissing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

The lazy days of summer (when I tend to post more often) just haven't happened for me this year! I've not had nearly enough time to stamp like I would like to--especially with all my goodies from the new SU annual catalog. <br />
<br />
We had 2 parties in 3 days this week and it was so much fun to stamp with these two groups of ladies! On Sunday evening I met with the Hillsboro group and then on Tuesday our McPherson group met--here are the cards from both parties:<br />
<br />
This was a card that I forgot to take to the June party in Hillsboro (still feel awful about that) featuring some new in color colors and product:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P4WIeBmPbqY/VaepglNePsI/AAAAAAAAB3U/uWaXsAK8W5s/s1600/IMG_0840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P4WIeBmPbqY/VaepglNePsI/AAAAAAAAB3U/uWaXsAK8W5s/s640/IMG_0840.jpg" width="564" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This featured Butterfly Basics and the beautiful lace ribbon in Tip Top Taupe. The sentiment came from Banner Banter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I shared a couple of quick tips--cleaning your photopolymer stamps with an alcohol wipe (I got mine at Wal-Mart) when they won't stick to the block anymore, and how to make a mask using 2 Way Glue. Here's the card I did using the mask with the set You've Got This:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TZgM08QNCGA/Vaeq5SIH6KI/AAAAAAAAB3g/_3i3jh1EKGg/s1600/IMG_0831.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TZgM08QNCGA/Vaeq5SIH6KI/AAAAAAAAB3g/_3i3jh1EKGg/s640/IMG_0831.jpg" width="528" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The colors are Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake. I colored the flower using a blender pen and calypso coral ink.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got the card idea and instructions for the next card on Stamping School. I love that it uses the 6 x 6 packs of designer series paper. Choose 4 coordinating prints and cut them to 1 1/2" x 3" strips and you can get 8 cards out of them. This is a 5 x 5 card and features Friendly Wishes. Here are 2 samples:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f64fTuu8Gzw/VaesmpUkleI/AAAAAAAAB3s/M-Ak-kJkOtk/s1600/IMG_0833.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f64fTuu8Gzw/VaesmpUkleI/AAAAAAAAB3s/M-Ak-kJkOtk/s640/IMG_0833.jpg" width="458" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Venetian Crochet Trim, the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the small flower is from the Tree Builder Punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We did a card featuring the Braid Technique. <a href="http://brandyscards.com/stampin-up-rain-or-shine-stamp-set/"> Here's the link</a> to the directions and download of page of cutting patterns. Love how special this makes a card look! We decorated with a design that I found on Simply Simple Stamping--Connie Stewart uses a technique she calls Flash Cards where there is no waste of cardstock. <a href="http://simplysimplestamping.com/">Check out her site!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ypfyrRzbFn4/Vaet3v14VNI/AAAAAAAAB30/91tjanWjpc0/s1600/IMG_0837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ypfyrRzbFn4/Vaet3v14VNI/AAAAAAAAB30/91tjanWjpc0/s640/IMG_0837.jpg" width="560" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Love, love, love the font on Cottage Greetings. It is such a sweet set!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last card was featured on stampinup.com and I think was created by Mary Fish. It uses the adorable set You're Sublime. I made a few minor changes in paper, but the design is basically the same.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hiwrle4E0yw/Vaeuphn0IdI/AAAAAAAAB4A/Bpxr8deFTLY/s1600/IMG_0844.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hiwrle4E0yw/Vaeuphn0IdI/AAAAAAAAB4A/Bpxr8deFTLY/s640/IMG_0844.jpg" width="542" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Schoolhouse designer paper and put a layer of So Saffron behind it. I colored in my image stamped with Staz-On ink on shimmery white paper with a blender pen. The colors I used were: Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Pool Party, Smokey Slate and Memento Tuxedo Black. I stuck it down with Everyday Chic washi tape and the hearts were punched with the Confetti Heart Border punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll be back tomorrow with the cards that were specific to each party. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Our May gathering in McPherson was a time to say goodbye to some retiring sets and hello to the new catalog and in-colors....</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Two of my favorite sets that are retiring are Perfect Blend (especially when you use it with Gorgeous Grunge). This is cased from Stampin' By the Sea.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A0Bsq40E-4I/VW0U27oQCWI/AAAAAAAAB18/1t8qCJ7hozc/s1600/IMG_0751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A0Bsq40E-4I/VW0U27oQCWI/AAAAAAAAB18/1t8qCJ7hozc/s640/IMG_0751.jpg" width="534" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And....this card, using the set From My Heart. I love the sayings in this set and really like this card. I pretty much cased this from Mommy Stamper found <a href="http://mommy-stamper.blogspot.com/2015/04/from-heart-retiring-card.html">here</a>, but added the little flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set and did my blushing bride banner behind with 2 of the banners punched out with the banner punch.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It also used the retiring Label Collections framelit (sniff!) and fancy fan embossing folder.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My next card that I demonstrated uses the beautiful Painted Blooms designer paper that is retiring...tomorrow. I'm hoping there's a replacement for it in the new catty. The paper makes the card and I used the Banner Blessings photopolymer set which will not be around for much longer since SU only guarantees its availability for 6 months after it's introduced. I got the idea from Susan Campfield's blog <a href="http://www.suestampfield.com/blog/2014/12/whip-it-wednesday-gift-it-banner-blessings-and-sneak-peek-painted-blooms.html">here</a>.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used an old olive card base with soft sky layered on top of that then the designer paper. The sentiment was stamped with versa mark and then embossed with black embossing powder. I used a blender pen and pink pirouette ink to fill in the banner. I then highlighted the letters with soft sky ink and a blender pen. Cut it out with the framelit from Apothecary Accents (also retiring) and you have a quick, easy and striking card!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last card I made for the group used watercolor paper, melon mambo, crushed curry, and island indigo ink and an aqua pen. But first I had to emboss the Watercolor Thank You with white embossing powder. I found this on pinterest from catherinelovesstamps.com</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card I demonstrated used crushed curry baker's twine. After the party, I added long retired island indigo twine to the second card which I liked a lot better than crushed curry. The melon mambo heart</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
had dazzling details spread over it which makes it shine (which you can't see).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After this was over we made a notecard sized card using a few of the new in-colors--and everyone got a new catalog!</div>
