Butterflies to Die For....

Although I'm not much of a collage-y stamper I like the look---I'm just not great at creating it....but I'm REALLY good at case-ing!  Ha!

Are you as in love with Butterfly Basics and the matching thinlits as I am?  So beautiful and the ensemble makes beautiful cards with hardly any effort!  Here's what we did at the party:

This little beauty was a case of a card made by Shelli Gardner with Dawn Griffith--easy to do and oh so cute!  Love the wisteria wonder butterfly ....and see that little bit of doily at the bottom?  I never would've thought to do that!  I'm not sure what size the card was that they did, but I made it into a notecard size--I'm telling you--those notecards and envelopes--one of the best deals in our catalog!

Then we "messed around" with the butterfly framelits....I shared an idea that I saw on Mercedes Weber's blog (love those weekly ideas from the Artisans) 

And then our make and take was this card that I cased (with a few minor changes) from Mary Fish's blog:

See that sentiment?  It's from a new photopolymer set called "Lovely Amazing You" which is going to be one of the sets I use for my next Stamp Set of the Month!

***I also shared the tip of using THIS sandwich when you cut out your butterfly thinlits  (the 2 intricate ones)--or for that matter any intricate frame lit.  Here it is--1. Platform; 2. Cutting Plate; 3. Unscented Dryer Sheet; 4. Cardstock; 5. Wax Paper and 6.  The thinlit.

I only use one dryer sheet folded in half--your Big Shot may be looser than mine and need another--you can use the same dryer sheets about 4 times by flipping and turning them.  Here's how you can tell if you are using too many---if you see polka dots on your butterfly's body.  Also--don't try with scented sheets--they will leave a residue on your card stock.

If you use this sandwich--the pieces will just fall out or stick to the dryer sheet!  It's so slick and easy!

February Fun

Woo Hoo!  I finally got to do some stamping!  We had our February get together last night at my house---and oh my!  I had so much I wanted to share....it was hard to decide what to do first!

How to make little envelopes with the hexagon punch and your scoreboard....

Then I did some sponging and created this cute little card using basic gray and pink pirouette and the hearts embossing folder in the new occasions catalog.  I really like how it turned out!

Then I shared a cute idea for the Irresistably Yours designer series paper that you can get for free with a $50 purchase from SU during Sale-a-Bration!  I really bypassed this paper until I saw what other demonstrators were doing with it!

I burnished with my sponge dauber in calypso coral, pool party and daffodil delight--and then added a tag with a few flowers punched with the flower punch from the itty bitty punch pack and the adorable hello from the set of thinlits in the occasions catalog called Hello You!  See that cute ribbon--also free during Sale-a-Bration!  

Wait until you see the butterfly cards that we did--you are going to love them!

                     

Birthday Fun!

A week ago today I was doing this.....

....enjoying the beach in Florida.  How much can it change in a week?  Well today I'm bundled in a blanket at my son's house babysitting for the grandkids (who are currently napping).  We came yesterday to celebrate this little girl's 2nd birthday!

Mya's party was a Frozen theme so here's the card I made for her using this youtube tutorial by Michelle Suit!  I made Olaf first and then realized that there was no way he was going to fit on a standard card size to this one is made to fit in a 5 x 7 envelope.  I didn't have the bow maker die so I made do with a leaf framelit from a retired set, and when I was all done realized I could have used the Christams light from the retired ornament framelit set.  Oh well--I think it turned out fine!  =-)

The inside said, "it's Mya's birthday!"

Dropping the Ball.....and I don't mean the New Year's Ball!

Wow!  I haven't posted since early November!  Seriously, I think my school and holiday commitments got the best of me!  I owe some people some posts of pictures/instructions first AND then I will be able to start posting photos of cards and craftiness made with things from the new Occasions catty and Sale-a-Bration sets! (can't wait....)

So let's see....I'm hoping I have photos of the cards that I need to post since I gave a bunch to my mom over Christmas!

Here are the photos from my Nov. Stamp Set of the Month featuring, Ornamental Pine and Holiday Home.  I don't have all the photos....yet....but I'm still looking!

This was my favorite!  You can't really see the bling of glitter on the pine cones!

Love how the embossing folder mimics the look of pine cones.

This was case'd from Stampin' School.....and I should have one more, but can't find the picture yet.

This is my first try--I changed the real red to cherry cobbler....and it looks much better~ cased this from Teneale Williams.

We did this card, but changed the white to soft sky and I liked it a lot better.

This was cased from our demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success.

It's the Most "Wonderful Wreath" Time of the Year!

Love the simplicity of this card.....

and I didn't even do a good job of matching up the 2nd layer of leaves!  =-)  I was surprised when I used the Filigree Frame embossing folder that it was full card size and you really can't cut it down much over an 1/8th of an inch--still love it though!

I'm having people over for "Stamp Set of the Month" and let me tell you--it's a lot of fun, but it sure makes me want to get my basement finished and a stamping area set up down there--then I don't have this to contend with.....as much.

Okay--we'd still have the mess, but at least I wouldn't have to go up and down the stairs a bazillion times to get things I forgot!!    Until next time!

Holiday Home Open House

I can't begin to tell you how much I like so many of the sets in this year's holiday catalog....Holiday Home is up today and here's what I made to show the diversity of this set at our last party!

This card was totally cased from our demo magazine--cute fall card and really not too time consuming to create!  

The next card is a Christmas card that was cased from someone who made it as a  Founder's Circle swap.  I've seen it a couple of different places and really like the non-traditional colors--pear pizzazz and lost lagoon are just yummy together!

I love the use of washi tape and the dazzling diamond glimmer paper on this card.  When I get the name of the card designer I'll let you know!  In the meantime.....

More Fall Fest Fun!

Here are a couple more cards that I made using Fall Fest!  Initially I wasn't interested in ordering this set, but who can resist those cute little leaves--and the matching framelits?  Too, too, cute!

The tutorial for this card is on Julie Davison's blog here.  Really a quick and easy card to make!

I fell in love with this card the minute that I saw Sandi MacIver's video here on it!  It uses the baby wipe technique and one of my favorite sets from the holiday catalog, Wonderful Wreath.
