Sudsol Challenge

I became a member of SUDSOL for SU demos earlier this summer and have had great fun following all the e-mails and getting great information and ideas from its members.  Last night I decided to join a chat for the first time and it was a hoot!  Somewhere in the midst of all the good tips for my SU business a challenge was issued to create a single layer card.....so here's my first response to a challenge ever!  I used Flower Bouquet embossing folder, Love & Care stamp set, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Crumb Cake ink.

I'm really enjoying having some time this summer to do more stamping on a regular basis--and ladies...I tried the Power Hour concept on cleaning my refrigerator this morning!  Yay!  Got it done!

Long Ago and Far Away.....

Here's a card I made a loooong time ago.  I was reading some blogs and came across a color challenge (and can I just say here that I've never entered a challenge) and I thought the colors looked hard to use together so I gave it a try and here's what I came up with...and I really, really liked it!  It went to my niece Jessica when she graduated from college a little over a year ago.  It was so long ago that I don't even remember what colors I used.....

I think this bike is so sweet....it was in a mini catalog a couple of years ago I believe--it also had a little bench in its set.  Maybe its name was Time for You?  I'll have to check.  Anyway--I like this bike and the saying from an old retired set with a bike.  It says, "On the ope road of life, may happiness be your destination." I think the dsp grass is not SU--this card is from pre-demonstrator times.  Have a happy day!

Heading to Family Reunion....

I've been spending my week with my mom and dad at our lake cottage in Indiana.  We've had horrible lake weather--raining on and off again every day--but I've enjoyed spending some time (just me) with my folks! Here's a card I did a looooong time ago, but I still love it!  It uses the retired set-- A Tree for All Seasons.

Enjoy!  I won't be back here until Monday or Tuesday when we get home from the reunion.

Call Me Punch Happy!

I love all the cute critters that you can create using punches and have created a file of them to case when I have time.....here's one that I found here.  Okay this is not the one I looked at to case--can't find the original anywhere on my computer, but Tami White's dragon is pretty close!  I finally had time to make this dear dragon!  Isn't he adorable!
I used wild wasabi from the dsp stack and also cardstock.  My red is cherry cobbler I think.  I'm away from home and am only looking at the photo so it's hard to say!

Punches used:  wide oval, large oval, small oval, star #2 die for the triangles, small flower from the bitty blossom 3 pack, 1/4 in. circle punch,  scallop circle punch (not sure which size) 1 3/4 in. circle

The neck and black part of the eyes are hand cut.

Father's Day!

I have one of the best Dad's in the world--and am so lucky to be visiting him and my mom during the week of Father's Day and his birthday!  Here's my dad with me last summer....

And here's the card I made for him--he loved to sail back in his younger days.....and I knew right away that I was going to case this card when I saw it on Mary Brown's blog!  It turned out great!

Love you Dad!

Pitiful!

My lack of posting on my blog is just pitiful!  Here I thought I'd have tons of time to work on my stamping as soon as I was checked out of my classroom.  Then my summer fun began.....VBS, math curriculum work, reading book study, traveling to Indiana for graduation, family reunion and a weeklong visit with my parents.  Now I've enjoyed or will enjoy each of these things....but I feel all that time I thought I'd have slipping through my fingers already!  =-)  Here's the graduate, Benjamin with his sisters--Kate and Mackenzie.  We had a fun day and are so proud of him!

Here's a card I made for my son and daughter-in-law--who are going to be parents in early August!  I love this little giraffe and had to get a quick picture of it before Abby took it home!  Ha!  I totally cased this from Carrie who also cased it, but I did change the legs and some other things to suit me.  I'm so sad because I wanted to demo this card, but the small oval punch is retiring and it is used pretty extensively for the head in this creation!  Guess I'll have to do some experimenting for a replacement punch that might work.

Finally.......summer!

Aaaah!  I'm thinking I finally have time to stamp.  Report cards....done.  Classroom cleaned....done.  Checked out of school.....done!  Here are the cards I demonstrated at a recent party.  I'm sure the majority of them were cased since the party occurred during the last week of school and things were a bit crazy at that time.  =-)  I'll try to put in links as soon as I can!

Card #1  Top Note Flower Fancy (miracle of miracles---not cased)

Card #2  Flight of the Butterfly--Embossed & Punched (cased from here)

Card #3  Versamarker Fabulous Florets (cased from here)

Card #4  Big Shot Butterfly with Elements of Style (I can't remember what blog I found this on, but I didn't have the same embossing folder or ribbon that was used on the butterfly and I'm not sure if it had a pretty in pink card base or not)

Okay--this took For-Ev-Er to load pictures and get them put on here!  Yikes!  I'm tired and need to get to bed so I can be fresh for Bible School tomorrow morning bright and early.  Hopefully I'll get the links to all the retired lists on here tomorrow for you!
